Brickell Medians

The City of Miami has found funds to match the State's grant application. The landscape architect firm of Wallace, Robinson & Todd will prepare the plans to accompany the application. Gerald Marston said his firm will address the previous problems with the leaky pipe irrigation system, plant choice and visibility around turn areas. Enrique Nunez and Alberto Dominguez of the City's Dept. of Public Works said they "have a good team to do the job right this time," whereas "in the past we had problems with the original design, and a contractor that didn't perform well." The BHA was asked to provide a letter of support to accompany the grant application.

Police Report

Lt. Mirabile reported burglaries are down, with only two car thefts in a recent week. The Police have been focusing on the parking situation in Coral Way area and writing tickets and finding stolen cars.)

The Security Seminar, organized by Lt. Mirabile and Mac Seligman, was a big success, attended by some 40 BHA building representatives, management and security personnel.

Statue. The Police are hosting a benefit concert on April 1st to help fund a statue made of guns.

Bruce Cotten moved and Florence Mazer seconded that the BHA purchase $500 worth of tickets for the Rey Casas concert to help support the statue.
