over please
To alleviate trouble now, the signalization
at Brickell and 8th Street has been changed to help flow and
they are working on getting the bridge light signals changed.
Coral Way NET Report: Tony Wagner
Mr. Wagner reported that a lot
of interventions have been made lately in the area involving
graffiti clean up and median clean up of trash. NET is working
with Brickell Forest Condo on the median on 25th Rd. west of
Brickell where new trees and no parking signs will be added.
The NET staff continues its drive-throughs with Mac Seligman
to survey the neighborhood and identify problems that need addressing.
Mr. Wagner will get the answer to a question raised as to what
the cycle is for grass cutting. Is it by the number of days or
aligned with the need?
Motion by Norm Mininberg that the Chair
request that all cell phones be turned off during meetings. The
motion passed unanimously.
Associate Member First Presbyterian
Church
Rev. Sally Campbell and Rebecca
Gibbs reported that the church is now open everyday from 7 a.m.
to 3 p.m. They are offering a Concert Series: "Lunchtime
Oasis," every Friday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. On Wed., there
is a mid-day church service and a yoga class at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Looking into child care and other community needs.
City of Miami Public Works Director
Al Dominguez
Brickell Avenue Landscaping.
The project is nearly done, but still have to put a visual screen
in front of the pump station on 25th Rd. The medians are fully
irrigated. For the $300,000 project (money secured mostly from
impact fees), close to a mile of new irrigation, new sod, tree
work and new plant material was added .
Curbing of medians on 15th Road (Coral Way to South Miami
Avenue) is done. Looking to curb swale areas as well.
On Brickell Bay Drive, lighting, palm trees and new grass
have been added. Looking at adding speed humps to slow
down traffic. Humps also serve as crosswalks.
By order of the City Manager's office, irrigation and lighting
are required when considering improvements to medians.
The Dept. of Public Works is trying to coordinate with developers
to agree to and pay for the needed sewer improvements
their projects will necessitate.
Flooding Concerns. When rains came, Coral Way & Brickell
Ave. and 15th & Brickell were flooded due to construction
debris blocking drainage. Steps have been taken to clear debris
A suggestion was made to eliminate parking on 12th St.
east of Brickell to Brickell Bay Drive while construction activity
continues since the combination of parking & construction
trucks & equipment block the flow of traffic.
Bruce Cotten, Nominating
Bruce Cotten moved and Ron Smith
seconded, that the current board officers be reelected to another
one year term. It passed unanimously.
Brickell Harbour presented a list of 10
improvements they would like made on 15th Rd. in the block from
Brickell east to the Bay. The list was passed to Mr. Dominguez
for feasibility and funding study.
