Traffic. A Reminder to Attend:
Jan. 24, City Commission Meeting, 6 p.m. The BHA Resolution adopted
Nov. 14 which encourages City to look at traffic issues holistically
versus project by project will be taken up. BHA has received

Tony Wagner, NET Office
Opening, dedication this Friday
at 4 for new wing at Shenandoah Park. This is the closest full
athletic park to Brickell Ave.
Clean up on
Coral Way this week.
Coral Way construction has
started. We're getting daily and
weekly
updates.
Grafitti clean up is ongoing, directly
out of the NET office
and not waiting for the
graffiti team to come. Will take a graffiti
drive
with Mac Seligman in a week or so.
Request to Wagner about what can be done
about the 25th Road (in front of Brickell Forest) median, which
looks bad and now doesn't look as good as east side of Brickell
Ave. on 25th Ave. "No parking" signs have been requested
Jeff
Giordano's Report
19 burglaries occurred and12 arrests
last month.
Armed robbery at Burger King on 8th
St and 1st Ave. All three
were arrested, who
matched the description of another incident.
5
decoy vehicles have been placed in the area. They are moved
around.
Traffic Meeting Report by Judge John
Gale
Town Hall
meeting on Brickell
Key will be set in 6 weeks.
Webcam to be placed at the light
coming off the
Key. John Gale represented the BHA at first meeting
just a few days previous.
Comments:
Why would they allow 20 buildings to be built without looking
at the traffic impact?
Construction equipment
on the roadway rather than the open lots?
They're putting it all on the Police.
Plus a
movie shoot one day.
Federal government can't
do anything until the City does something.
Bottom line: no one is doing anything.
Manual
traffic direction works better than automated lights.
Dan Ponce sending electronic images to FDOT daily to show them
the traffic.
Report from Frank Rollason, Assistant
City Manager, Miami
Bus benchesa new way to look at
the
benches. The City is looking into contracting with a new
firm that promises national, backlit advertising. Of the 1500
benches in the contract, 900 would have advertising, and 600
which are in scenic corridors, would not. Each would be permitted
individually, inspected. The advertising will have underground
electricity. Sarmiento working with Greenberg Traurig and Rollason
on what Brickell wants. R1 and R2 and scenic corridors
advertising is not allowed. No one has overlayed the actual existing
bus routes with the bus benches that are there, bench locations
now do not necessarily correlate with bus stops.
Rebecca Gibbs represents the First
Presbyterian Church.will come back Feb. 20th
Next meeting: Annual Meeting, Feb. 20,
Brickell Harbour.
