Miami-Dade Transit Frank Talleda
Miami-Dade owns land surrounding their transit stations, Metrorail lines, etc. The Miami Herald is looking to lease land around SW 7th Street and SW 1st Avenue for a distribution center and want to use part of the Countys land for parking and access to the property. As with all properties the County manages, there would be a bid process. The Transit Dept. is interested in getting feedback from residents on this matter and how theyd like the property to be used. Some concerns about the noise level associated with a newspaper distribution center were raised, since it would involve trucks coming in and leaving in the early morning hours.
