Ultra Music Festival to be held on Virginia Key

Despite the objections of Key Biscayne and Brickell residents, the Ultra Music Festival has received agreement from the City of Miami to hold its event March 29-31, 2019 on historic Virginia Key Beach.  Concerned neighbors attended the City of Miami Commission Meeting on November 15th to oppose the City of Miami Resolution’s approving the Ultra Music Festival at Virginia Key.

Miami Sup Makes it Official: Brickell Welcomes New Southside K-8

After more than three decades of waiting, the Brickell area will have a new neighborhood middle school for its families.

Artificial turf is a no-go, to be replaced with grass

When the narrow swales of grass along Brickell started getting pulled up and replaced with artificial turf, neighbors took notice. Many spoke up, and by a margin of about 10 to 1, most did not like the artificial grass. Not at all. It was called tacky, and worse, and many expressed concern over how it would withstand the many dogs using it for their poop and pee.

Senator José Javier Rodriguez has gathered advocates and experts together for a Town Hall meeting on Wed., Oct. 3 on the 12 proposed constitutional amendments to appear on the November 6 general election ballot. New 1814 Park Playground Open and a Big Hit with Brickell Families

Neighbors’ Input Sought on Proposed Coral Way Traffic Circle

FDOT recently completed a planning study examining a potential roundabout at the intersection of SR 972/Coral Way (SW 13th Street/SW 3rd Avenue) and SW 15th Road. Neighbors are invited to a public meeting about the project on September 12, 6:00 p.m. at the Little Havana NET Office where residents will be asked for input.
